Evgeniy Petrov, The Soviet Union writer and journalist has an unusual hobby. Evgeniy started writing fake letters since he was 6 when he tried writing one to his imaginary friend. Throughout his lifetime, he has accumulated a letter from every country, except New Zealand. Every time he chooses different fake name for his addressee. The envelopes come back, but beautified with colorful foreign stamps and postmarks. Throughout his lifetime, he has accumulated letters from many countries around the world. One time he actually receives a letter from New Zealand from someone who claims to know him....
Envelope is a short film inspired by true events of Russian publicist and writer Yevgeny Petrov, who died in a plane crash serving as a war correspondent. Actor Kevin Spacey supports young Russian director Aleksy Nuzhny by starring in his film made by Jameson Irish Whiskey in association with Kevin Spacey's Trigger Street Productions.
